Writing Without Fear: How to Raise Your Own Stakes As A Storyteller (with Giulietta Nardone)
Fear can wreak havoc on writers. It can thwart publication dreams at any bend in the literary road, from authors not placing their fiction or non-fiction narrators in enough emotional danger to procrastination and complete stall out on a book project. These writing dead-ends often happen because the storyteller lives in a state of fear. Fear of rejection, failure, inadequacy or even success. In this fun, interactive workshop, participants will do a series of exercises to get in touch with their fears not only about writing but also about life. To spark our inner brave, we will read and discuss excerpts from fearless writers who “give it their all” such as Cheryl Strayed, Lucy Grealy, David Sedaris and Maya Angelou as well as do deep dive writing prompts to up your storyteller’s game.
