How did you first learn about Pioneer Valley Writers' Workshop?

Tell us about yourself, in particular your writing life. Are you new to writing? Are you a seasoned author? We work with writers at all levels, but it's helpful to have a sense of your background and experience.

Have you worked with a professional editor or writing coach before? (If yes, was it through a publishing house, literary magazine, school or organization, or an independent freelance editor?)

All of our editors work digitally, using either Google Docs or Microsoft track changes to comment on and line-edit manuscripts. Are you comfortable emailing your work as a .doc attachment, or sharing it as a Google Doc?

Are there specific PVWW consultants/editors you'd like to work with? If so, please list your first and second choices. If you have no preference, write "Any" and we will pair you with someone in your genre who is a good fit based on your work sample, though please take into account our consultants' different hourly rates, which will impact the cost and hence could impact your preferences.

Please let us know what the limits to your budget are. This is very important to know, as our editors have different hourly rates, and time/cost estimates vary. For full manuscript (60,000 - 90,000 words) consultations and editing, you can expect time/cost estimates from most editors to be in the 12 - 20 hour range, averaging $1500 - $3,500, depending on different hourly rates, reading speeds, needs of the manuscript, and level of editing and feedback. Consultations and feedback on short stories, essays, and shorter pieces usually range from 2 - 5 hours, depending of course on length and other factors. If you have budget constraints, let us know so we can work with you to find the right editor.
