The Group

This group is for anyone wanting early-morning writing accountability, specifically to finish a project and work seriously in the earliest, darkest hour of morning. We've all heard the aphorism "The darkest hour is just before dawn," which may or may not be literally true, but certainly can feel figuratively true when in the weeds of a manuscript. The motivation behind this group is accountability: to ourselves, and the writing projects we want to bring into the world. For some of us, this may be our only time in the day to write. For others, this group can help begin the writing process earlier in the day, with solidarity. Even just being logged into the Zoom session and seeing others writing will create its own momentum.

When

The writing Zoom room will be open every morning, from 5:30am - 8am ET, unless otherwise mentioned. Directions for Attending

• When you log in, feel free to say hi in the chat, and if you'd like to, let us know what you're working on! If you want to share something that recently inspired you or helped you persist, we'd love that (but zero pressure also). 

  
  

• Feel free to leave your camera on or turn it off - whatever is most comfortable!  
  

• Everyone will be muted - and just so we are sure to not accidentally disrupt each other, I may auto-turn off speaking, so we won't have the ability to unmute.

  
  

• In order to lower the bar for attendees and keep this as a dedicated writing space, we will be keeping this as a silent "no talking" space - though the chat will be open with a welcome message, and for anyone who wants to say hi, share pre-dawn inspiration, and/or what they're working on.
